Chasers of the Light: Poems from the Typewriter Series
Review:
The poems, in their entirety, is a collection that is more than words can describe. They are both intimate and heartfelt that reach into the deepest crevice of your mind. It gives you a sense of feeling loved and what it means in its reciprocated form. My favorites:
I Love You,
in ways
you’ve never been
loved,
for reasons you’ve never been
told,
for longer than you think you
deserved
and with more
than you will ever know existed
inside
me.
Find my hand
in the darkness
and if we
cannot find
the light,
we
will always
make our
own.
You
are the poem
I never knew
how to write
and this life
is the story
I have always
wanted
to tell.
Can’t you see
from where you
sit
that I have scars
to kiss?
can you hear
from where you
rest
that I just may be
crazy?
can’t you feel
from where you
sleep,
that its always
you
that I
miss?
I promise you
I will try harder
to be better.
I
have battled with things
inside me
for longer than you know;
I do not know
what they are
or why are there,
I only know
that they feel
manageable
defeatable,
when I
am around
you.
You should know this,
that I love you
that I have always
loved you
and nothing,
no force in this
universe,
can stop me
from loving you
still.
“Thank you”
she whispered soft
like it may
blow away
with anything stronger
than a breath,
“for fixing me.”
“You,”
I sputtered out
like the first sound
of morning,
“were never broken.”
